The Virtual Parish Council Website TM
The Virtual Parish Council Website TM is an application built by experienced Microsoft software developers, Southern IT Ltd, to power and maintain parish council websites with a minimum of effort. These are "responsive" websites that display equally well on desktop or mobile device and that meet all current GDPR and other government legislation such as WCAG v2.1 Accessability and Transparency Codes.
The initial request was a website for a parish council where the current Managing Director of Southern IT serves as a Councillor, in Biddenden Parish Council. Shortly afterwards neighbouring Smarden Parish Council contacted Southern IT as they had admired Biddenden's website.
Designed with ease of use and navigation a priority parish council websites can now be fast and easy to update making the Clerk's life so much easier as new documents or news items can be loaded to the website from the desktop in literally less than a minute.
Local crime statistics for the local parish are now included automatically from the government supplied open source data.
Recently added is the new online mailing list for those who wish to sign up to keep current with parish meetings, local events and other news items which are published on a month's view calendar showing important dates.
